HAMILTON — Tristen Amani Stewart, Kenneth Larry Stewart and Tahisha Stewart Cameron have been indicted on charges of capital murder, obstructing governmental operations, hindering prosecution and more.
The three were indicted by grand jury and denied bond on Monday, Dec. 15.
Tristen Stewart was arrested on Aug. 16, on capital murder charges, and his father, Kenneth Stewart, was arrested for aiding and abetting and obstruction of governmental operations.
Tristan was charged for shooting and killing Taylor Madison Dudley and seriously injuring his nearly two-year-old daughter.
The grand jury indicted Tristen on all three charges of capital murder of a parent while in the presence of a child under 14, intentional attempted murder and first degree domestic violence (assault with a deadly weapon).
Kenneth Stewart was indicted for being an accessory to the capital murder of a parent while in the presence of a child under 14, obstructing governmental operations, being an accessory to attempted murder and first degree domestic violence and for hindering prosecution (also first degree).
According to court documents, the grand jury found sufficient evidence that Kenneth interfered with the investigation and posed as an accessory to his son by taking him from the scene and attempting to deceive investigators.
As previously reported, Kenneth was at the residence and reported the incident, but Marion County Sheriff Kevin Williams alleged he intentionally left out important information on his son’s whereabouts, which led to his arrest for obstruction and aiding and abetting his son in capital murder.
Not only did he allegedly lie to investigators, but according to court documents, Kenneth is alleged to have driven his son away from the crime scene to evade capture before returning to the scene one hour later to call 911. He then allegedly gave false statements to police to mislead them and slow Tristen’s capture.
Tahisha Stewart Cameron was indicted on charges of tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental operations, hindering prosecution and being an accessory to capital murder.
According to court documents, the grand jury charges that she attempted to hide evidence, including a handgun, and also “transported Tristen Amani Stewart to a hotel to evade investigation and arrest.”
