GUIN — Marion County High School named its basketball court after Head Girls’ Basketball Coach Scott Veal before a home game against Hamilton on Friday, Dec. 5.
Veal was hired by Marion County High School in 2020. At that time, he had a career girls’ basketball coaching record of 246 wins and 90 losses.
Before coaching at Marion County, he had led the Phillips’ boys’ and girls’ teams to an impressive record and numerous appearances in the Elite Eight and Final Four, as well as two state title appearances, one state runner up and one state championship.
Since starting at Marion County, his record has improved to 366 wins and 146 losses.
