Garbage schedules announced for holiday season

MARION COUNTY — Holiday garbage pickup schedules have been shared by local sanitation services and departments for the county, and the cities and towns in Marion County.
• Marion County Solid Waste - For Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24, garbage will be picked up the day before on Tuesday, Dec. 23. For Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25, garbage will be picked up the next day on Friday, Dec. 26. For New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 31, garbage will be picked up the day before on Tuesday, Dec. 30. For New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, garbage will be picked up the next day on Friday, Jan. 2.

Hamilton &
Winfield
schedules
same as county
The cities of Hamilton and Winfield will be following the same schedule as the county:
• Hamilton - For Dec. 24, garbage will be picked up Dec. 23. For Dec. 25, garbage will be picked up Dec. 26. For Dec. 31, pickup Dec. 30. For Jan. 1, pickup will be Jan. 2. The Hamilton Sanitation Department requests customers to have their garbage cans placed curbside the night before or by 6 a.m. the day of as employees will be pulling double shifts during their holiday schedules.
• Winfield - For Dec. 24, garbage will be picked up Dec. 23. For Dec. 25, garbage will be picked up Dec. 26. For Dec. 31, pickup Dec. 30. For Jan. 1, pickup will be Jan. 2.

Other
municipalities
Bear Creek - The Town of Bear Creek runs their garbage pickups on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For the week of Christmas, garbage pickups will be moved back to Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23. Customers should have all garbage cans to the curb before Monday morning or early Monday.
• Brilliant - The Town of Brilliant runs their garbage pickups on Tuesdays. Their schedule will remain the same.
Guin - The City of Guin will have garbage pickup for their regular Wednesday, Thursday and Friday customers all picked up on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24. The schedule for New Year’s garbage pickup has not yet been announced.
Hackleburg - For Christmas week, all garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 23. For New Year’s week, Wednesday pickup will remain the same. Thursday’s garbage will be picked up on Friday, Jan. 2.
