Fundraiser and reception held for Senator Garlan Gudger

WINFIELD — The Hampton Inn located on exit 30 off of I-22 on State Highway 129 in Winfield hosted a reception for State Senator Garlan Gudger on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Around 200 people attended the fundraiser meet and greet, including State Representative Tracy Estes, county officials, local mayors, police and fire chiefs, business leaders and more from all across Marion County.
Gudger spoke during the reception about his plans for the area, discussing the opportunities afforded by the interstate running through the county and his district and other topics, along with answering questions from those in attendance.
Members of the Winfield City High School varsity girls’ basketball team served as greeters during the event.
Hampton Inn Director of Sales Hilda Smith, who helped set up and host the event said the reception was a success.
The reception was held after Gudger, Estes and other local, county and state leaders met in Brilliant to take a tour of the new BG Manufacturing plant earlier that afternoon.
