Roger Dale Colburn

Mr. Roger Dale Colburn, 76, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Fayette Medical Center Long-Term Care Facility. Mr. Colburn was born Nov. 30, 1948, in Fayette County, Ala., to Emra L. and Dovie P. Colburn.
A 1966 graduate of Winfield City High School, Roger was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon for many years. Roger spent his career first at the Fayette Cotton Mill until its closing and later at the Northwest Medical Center, where he worked in maintenance. Beyond his work, Roger cherished spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working on old cars and fishing.
Mr. Colburn is survived by his children, Anita Ray (David), Patsy Benton (Tony) and Rodney Colburn (LeeAnn); stepdaughter, Lana Pretelin (Victor); special friend, Willie Jean Guschke; grandchildren, Breanna Ford (Trevor), John David Ray, Makenzie Pretelin, Miguel Pretelin, Courtney Sullivan (Kyle), Skyler Benton (Sarah) and Cecily Benton; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Colburn was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Sue Fowler Colburn; his second wife, Rebecca Doss Colburn; and his brothers, Guy and Oscar Colburn.
Funeral services for Mr. Colburn were held on May 2, 2025, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery.
