Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrests 2 criminal illegal aliens

MARION COUNTY — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested two criminal illegal aliens in Hamilton and Hackleburg on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Taken into custody were Edilson Orlando Maeda, 32, who is originally from Guatemala but was living in Hamilton, and Adolfo Reyes Rodriguez, 43, a native of Mexico who was residing in Hackleburg. Both of these men had been charged with state sex abuse crimes—Rodriguez plead guilty to sexual abuse in the first degree, which is a felony, in 2019, while he was living in Russellville, and Maeda plead to a misdemeanor count of second degree sexual abuse in Hamilton.
Both men were published on the sheriff’s office’s website which lists all sex offenders in Marion County, including their charges and photos.
Making the arrests were investigators and deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, agents from ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement), Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Department of Homeland Security.
Both arrests were made without incident. Both were taken into custody by ICE officials and transported to Birmingham where they were scheduled for deportation to their native countries.
