Mrs. Bobbie Anne Riley, 56, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, in the Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. Bobbie was born in Hamilton, Ala., on July 25, 1968, to Bobby Sam and Grace Proehl Frye. She attended Faith Church and was a 1986 graduate of Hamilton High School. After graduation, Bobbie attended the University of North Alabama where she earned her degree in accounting and finance. She was employed with Tombigbee Electric for 13 years before she and her husband became the owner/operators of Backside BBQ in Hamilton. In her spare time Bobbie enjoyed doing anything related to sports. She loved coaching softball and basketball. She served as park member with the Winfield Park and Recreation Board for many years. Bobbie always enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Bobbie is survived by her husband of 23 years, Andy Riley; daughters, Samantha “Sam” Bryant (Tyler) of Boaz and Campbell Riley; stepdaughter, Alex Posey of Millport; mother, Grace Hanford; brothers, Willie Frye (Becky) of St. Louis, Missouri, Johnny Hanford (Cherry) and Leland Hanford of Hamilton; sister, Dae Frye Smith of Hamilton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Bobbie was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sydney Grace Riley; father, Bobby Frye; and stepfather, Dr. John Hanford.
Funeral services for Bobbie were held on Aug. 29, 2024, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Musgrove Chapel Cemetery.
