BRILLIANT — The 23rd Annual CoalFest in Brilliant will kick off this Friday, May 24, at 5 p.m. with local legend Lloyd Moses taking the stage first, a feat he continues to accomplish each and every year to the delight of all involved in the festival.
Vendors will also be open, with a wide variety of merchandise and food selections available to attendees. And even with 100-plus vendors already, the phone continues to ring at Brilliant Town Hall with more vendors being added daily.
Besides Moses, other musical acts on Friday night include Mike Mayhall of Tremayne performing an acoustic set and Area 51, one of the top bands in Memphis, Tenn.
On Saturday, May 25, vendors will open at 9 a.m. with live music beginning around 11 a.m.
The Brilliant CoalFest Car Show will be held, with proceeds and donations going to the high school track team. Located on Main Street, there are classes for cars and trucks, with awards and a 50/50 drawing
