Aggies, Lady Aggies beat Haleyville Lions

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Aggies varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams defeated the visiting Haleyville Lions on Friday night, Dec. 15.
The Lady Aggies took a strong lead in the first half and ended the third quarter with a 44-16 lead. The Lady Lions picked up the pace in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Aggies stayed ahead and won the game 66-39.
Hamilton’s Jordan Parker scored 20 points and made eight rebounds and two assists. Aubrey Sorrells scored 13 points and made nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
Hamilton’s boys also took the lead in the first half, although the first quarter remained close with Hamilton ahead 10-8. Both teams hit their shots throughout the second quarter, but Hamilton remained in the lead at 32-36 going into halftime.
The Aggies stayed ahead of the Lions in the second half, and won the game 70-52.
Hamilton’s Hunter Galbreath scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Kevin McBride scored 11 points with 12 rebounds, Kel Battle scored 10 points with five rebounds, Mason Holloway scored nine points, Kaden Whitaker scored eight points, Dylan Frederick scored six points and Brayden Pounders scored three.
