GU-WIN - Tom Wisemiller of Marysville, Ohio, has been hired to take the helm at C3 of Northwest Alabama, Inc. the economic development alliance that represents Marion, Lamar & Fayette Counties.
David Thornell, President/CEO since C3’s inception in September 2010, announced his retirement in the fall of 2020 after 42 years in the economic development field. C3’s nationwide search for Thornell’s replacement spanned several months.
Wisemiller has 15 years of experience in successfully managing and promoting economic development programs and projects. In his most recent position as Development Project Coordinator with the Marysville – Union County Economic Development, Wisemiller led efforts to attract and retain industrial projects in the Union County area, a fast-growing rural/suburban county of the Columbus region. He played a key role, as part of a regional effort, in bringing Alcorta Forging Group (AFG) to Marysville. AFG, a 100-year-old Spanish automotive supplier, is establishing its first U.S. manufacturing operations and regional headquarters in Marysville, creating 60 new jobs over the next 3 to 5 years.
