Bonnie Williams

Mrs. Bonnie Graves Williams, 88, of Winfield, passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at a son’s home in Winfield with family around her. Mrs. Williams was born on Aug. 5, 1937, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of Luther W. Graves and Frances Clinard Graves. She married Jerry W. Williams, her husband of almost 68 years, on Dec. 20, 1957.  Together they raised a family and served the Lord in ministry in seven churches in four states for over 40 years.
After graduating from East High School in Nashville, she was employed by an insurance firm in Nashville. This was the beginning of several clerical jobs at which she would excel. These included Genesco (Nashville), Johnston Elementary School (Asheville, N.C.), Middle Georgia College (Cochran, Ga.), Bainbridge State College (Bainbridge, Ga.), Trinity Youth Camp (Guin, Ala.) and Alabama Free Will Baptist Executive Office (Eldridge, Ala.).
In addition to her clerical employment, Mrs. Williams embraced her roles as wife, mother, grandmother. She was a blessing to her family. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper. She made holidays special with decorations, meals and desserts. She enjoyed traveling, reading, watching sports and working in the yard. Flowers were a real joy to her, whether she was planting them or just admiring them.
Although raised in the First Nazarene Church in Nashville, Mrs. Williams partnered with her husband as he ministered in the Free Will Baptist denomination. She grew to love FWB and became very knowledgeable and involved in it. She loved attending church, singing in the choir, supporting missions and fellowshipping with her friends.
Survivors include her two sons, Danny (Karen) Williams of Winfield and Thomas (Corinna) Williams of Valparaiso, Fla.; granddaughters, Bethany Campbell (Cullman, Ala.), Heather Marck (Madison, Ala.), Audrey Tooley (Rushville, Ind.), Hollis Williams (Valparaiso), Jessica Gonce (Church Hill, Tenn.) and Jamie Mabe (Surprise, Ariz.); and great-grandchildren, Levi, Adeline, Forrest, Jacson, Alder, Madalynn and Kai.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Lewis Williams; her husband, Jerry W. Williams; and three brothers, Warren, Harold and Horace Graves.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams were held on Nov. 8, 2025, at Winfield Freewill Baptist Church with burial following in Old Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alabama FWB Acts 1:8 Mission Support Plan at P.O. Box 14, Winfield, AL 35594.
