SULLIGENT — Keylan Hughes ran for three scores to lead the Winfield Pirates to its first win of the 2024 season with a 26-8 victory over the Sulligent Blue Devils on Friday, Aug. 30.
Hughes ran for 139 yards and scored on runs of 2, 8 and 46 yards to pace the Pirates' rushing attack.
The win improved the Pirates to 1-1 on the season, heading into Class 3A, Region 5 play next week.
