GUIN — The Marion County Red Raiders knocked Hubbertville off fourth spot in the region following their big win at home to get closer to a spot in the playoffs Friday, Oct. 27.
The Red Raiders, who came into the game with an even 4-4 record, were eager to get a win after suffering a loss to the South Lamar Stallions in the previous week.
Marion County took the lead early in the game as the only scorers in the first quarter.
Hubbertville was able to come back in the second, scoring two touchdowns to take the lead at the half.
With the stakes higher than they’ve been this season, Marion County stepped up to the plate, scoring two unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter and scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders also held their opponents to just 14 points in the fourth quarter, winning the game 41-28.
