Hackleburg stomps visiting Shoals Christian 46-7

HACKLEBURG — Hackleburg now stands at 7-1, 5-0 after their big win Friday, Oct. 20, when they took on the Shoals Christian Flame and walked off the field with the game at 46-7.
Hackleburg kicked off to Shoals Christian, who punted, giving the ball to the Panthers. After moving the chains 68 yards, Quarterback Blaise Vickery took it in for their first touchdown on the night. Their PAT was no good, but they were up 6-0.
When the Flame was in possession on the next drive, Panther Noah Tubb picked the ball up after a Flame fumble. Vickery also took this one in for a touchdown. A two point conversion failed, leaving the Panthers well ahead of the Flame 12-0.
Pushed back to their own goal line, the Flame fumbled again, and it was recovered by the Panthers again. This time, Edge Weeks recovered it in the end zone, earning another touchdown for the Panthers. The PAT was no good, and the Panthers led 18-0.
The next drive of the Flame ended in a punt and set up the Panthers at the Flame’s 29 yard line. Moving into the second quarter, the Panthers were able to quickly get another touchdown, this time by Carson Swinney. The PAT was good with the Panthers leading 25-0.
The Flame had some time with the ball as they worked their way across the field. A grabbed ball after a punt gave them more time, but it was to end in another punt, this time setting up the Panthers at their own 13 yard line.
Shortly thereafter, the Panthers were able to cross 87 yards with Davin Dulaney having the touchdown honors. The PAT was good, leaving the Panthers at 32-0 at half time.
The Flame’s defense seemed stronger at the beginning of the third, but Hackleburg was able to break through with Daughtry Gober earning a touchdown. Another good PAT let Hackleburg move up to 39-0.
