HALEYVILLE — The Hamilton Aggies varsity boys basketball team fell to rivals Haleyville on Thursday, Jan. 12, in Haleyville.
Hamilton’s boys came into the game with a 3-9 record, having only beaten a few teams in their regular season.
Hamilton’s struggles on both ends of the court continued in their game against Haleyville as the team lost 68-34.
Hamilton’s record currently stands at 3-11, following last week’s three straight losses against Cordova, Haleyville and Marion County High School.
Although Hamilton has struggled to score throughout the season, they showed themselves strong even in defeat scoring 70 to Marion County’s 80.
The girls varsity team, however, continued their flying form with a big win against Haleyville 53-22.
Their record currently reads 16-4 after five straight wins in the past two weeks.
Hamilton’s girls swept aside Haleyville in their last meeting before defeating Dora, Cordova, Haleyville again and the Lady Raiders by a score of 55-46.
Both Hamilton’s boys and girls will be in tournament games this week in Hackleburg.
Hamilton’s girls will go head to head with the Red Raiders, and Hamilton’s boys will face off against the Hackleburg Panthers.
Both games were not played as of press time on Monday, Jan. 16.
