Red Raiders put two teams to the sword

GUIN — Marion County beat the Winfield Pirates after taking an early lead and keeping the pressure up the whole game on Thursday, Dec. 1
The score at the end of the game read 66-52, in favor of the home team.
Winfield stayed close but couldn’t put up enough points to overtake the Raiders.
The Pirates’ J.D. Boman was the top scorer for the Pirates with 15 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Preston Nelson scored 11 points and grabbed three rebounds. Miles Miles scored 10 points and recorded two rebounds and one assist.
Slate Gilbert scored six points, Sean Wyers scored four points and Tyler Mays and Thackary Box each scored three points. Mays also made nine rebounds.
For the Raiders, Jacob Madison led the way with 17 points and one rebound. Landon Morrow scored 16 points and made six rebounds.
Joseph Aldridge also grabbed six rebounds and scored 12 points.
Dee Lipsey scored nine points and made three rebounds. Jameson Webb scored six points, Jake Smith scored four points and Brooks Junkin scored two points.
Following their game against Winfield. The Red Raiders went up against Hubbertville at home in Guin.
Marion County was able to win their home game by an extremely impressive scoreline of 90-31 against the visitors in a display that saw tons of offensive action from the first quarter.
Winfield’s following game was against Haleyville, where they lost 51-45.
Winfield’s top two scorers were Nelson with 15 points, four rebounds and three steals and Gilbert who also scored 15 points along with three rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Wyers scored 12 points and made nine rebounds and two assists. Miles scored nine points and made four rebounds. Haiden Channell scored five points and made five rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.
Boman and Dawson Klein each scored five points. Drew Cook scored four points, and Box scored three points. Woman made four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Klein grabbed two rebounds. Cook made seven rebounds, one assist and one block. Box grabbed two rebounds, four assists and three steals. Mays ended the game with three rebounds, five assists and one steal.
