Haleyville:
The Winfield Pirates stayed in it until the end, but Haleyville pulled away late in an 8-5 victory on Thursday, Feb. 24. The game was tied at four with Haleyville batting in the bottom of the sixth when Brody Gravitt drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Pirates lost despite out-hitting Haleyville eight to four.
Haleyville Lions captured the lead in the second inning when an error scored one run for Haleyville.
The Pirates evened things up at four in the top of the fifth inning. Brooks Smith grounded out, scoring one run.
