He was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church and a 1964 graduate of Winfield City High School. Mr. Dodd retired with Continental Conveyor and Equipment Co. after 40 years of service. He is survived by his daughters - Jan Dodd and Maggie (Cody) Doles; grandchildren - Shawn (Jenna) Gilbert, Allan (Dannah) Gilbert, Sara Gilbert and Valarie (Hayes) Shirley; great-grandchildren - Bailee and Cohen Gilbert, Leyah Key, Kingston and Zandria McCollum, Jack and Olivia Shirley and baby Riggs Gilbert on the way; brothers - David (Sarah) Dodd and Roger (Debbie) Dodd; sisters-in-law - Dorothy Reese and Karen (Kent) Matthews; brother-in-law - Eddie (Julie) Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Sharon Beth (Thomlinson) Green, born on Dec. 18, 1945, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Coffee High School in Florence in 1964. She also graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1967 and was presented the Keller Key, an award given to the student with the highest academic average. She obtained a graduate degree from UNA and did post-graduate work at the University of Alabama. She met her spouse, Gordon Green, at UNA and they were later married at Fort Sill, Okla., on May 25, 1968. She taught school at Butler High, Huntsville, Hamilton Elementary and Hamilton Middle School. She also was a life guard at the Hamilton Rec and she taught many children in Hamilton how to swim during the summer months. She worked part-time at Walmart for a period of years. She loved her God, her family and her church. She enjoyed reading, TV game shows and traveling with her friends and family. She is survived by her husband - Gordon Green; sons - Clint and Nathan (Traci); grandsons - Parker, Jack, Nick and Drew; and two sisters - Linda Potts and Diane Tomlinson. Mrs. McCaleb was a member of the Berea Church of Christ, she was a 1949 graduate of Cullman High School and an active member of the Modern Literary Club for many decades. Mrs. McCaleb loved to travel the world with her husband, Clarence, spending time with her children and family, and in earlier years she loved to sew clothes for herself and her girls. Mrs. McCaleb is survived by three daughters - Beth M. (James) Jordan, Killen, Kim M. (Greg) Rowell, Jasper, Ga., and Lisa M. (Wade) Weeks, Arley; one son - Scott (Kim) McCaleb, Winfield; grandchildren - Kevin (Tiffany) Rowell, Katie (Roger) Wells, Chris Rowell, Justin (Amelia) Jordan, Lindsay Jordan, Aaron McCaleb, Seth (Natasha) McCaleb, Paislee’ McCaleb, Caleb and Elliot Weeks, Bethany (Derrick) Blackburn, Brianna (Gunner) Ford and Alaina (Trey) Copeland; great-grandchildren - Rowan Smiley, Anelise, Emersyn, Preston and Olivia Jordan, Nolan, Anslee, Beckham and Bradley Rowell, Emma McCaleb, Noah and Olivia Copeland, Declan Blackburn and Freya Ford. She was born on Nov. 6, 1949, in Fayette County to Bernard and Edith Swindle. Mrs. Price was a 1968 graduate of Berry High School and was employed with Reltoc Manufacturing for 25 years until its closure in 1993. She later retired from Shelby Die Casting in Fayette. She was a talented seamstress who could make anything from clothing to costumes. She loved her family and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in all their sporting events. She was a “picker,” always looking for great deals at yard sales and Dirt Cheap. She is survived by her husband of 51 years - Scotty Price; daughter - Andrea (Shane) Harbin; sons - David Price and Stoney Price; grandchildren - Kyle (Hannah) Price, Brook McCaleb and Kylee Harbin; great-grandchildren - Copelyn Price and Kannan James Price; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents - Benard and Edith Smith Swindle; sister - Diane Corkren; and a brother - Doc Swindle.
