HAMILTON -  The Marion County Jail has consistently held over 300 inmates in every one of the first six months of 2019.
The jail, constructed in 1979, was originally built to hold a maximum of 85 inmates.
The current inmate numbers for each month have been very high and continue to increase through the years, but none more notable than the first six months of this year.
According to Marion County Sheriff Kevin Williams, the jail has seen inmate numbers as high as 388 this year, with the lowest count number being 328 in June.
