HAMILTON - “I don’t know anything about phone calls,” said Marion County District 2 Commissioner Kenneth Cochran when speaking with the Journal Record about the gas tax reallocation.
In the aftermath of the commission meeting of Monday, June 24, commissioner Tim Estes stated that he had received a phone call about the tax discussion and Keith Nichols stated that the topic had been brought up months ago.
Cochran, however, stated that he did not have anything to do with discussions or phone calls outside of the bounds of the Alabama Open Meetings Act.
“I’ve never discussed it, (but) It’s been discussed with every commissioner I’ve ever worked for,” stated Cochran.
