17th annual golf tournament will benefit local domestic violence survivors

HAMILTON — The Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force will host its 17th Annual Golf Tournament Friday, Oct. 4, at the Pikeville Country Club.
Registration is held the day of the event, with two tee times available: either 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. Entry fees are $65 per player and include a lunch to be served at noon for all participants.
The golf tournament is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the task force, which uses all the funds raised to help support local domestic abuse survivors and the Safeplace shelter in Marion County.

Elks Lodge donates to local task force, shelter

HAMILTON — With all proceeds earmarked for local needs, the Marion County Elks Lodge made a $2,900 donation to the Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the courthouse in Hamilton.

SafePlace supply drive now underway for local needs

HAMILTON — Two representatives of the Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force spoke to the Hamilton City Council during its Monday, Feb. 5, meeting regarding their annual supply drive, now underway.

Task force raises over 5K for shelter

HAMILTON - The Marion County Domestic Violence Task Force raised over $5,000 from its 12th annual fundraiser golf tournament held at the Pikeville Country Club on Friday, Oct. 4.
Kier Vickery, co-chair of the task force, said the $5,094.84 was raised through 11 corporate sponsors, 27 hole sponsors and 18 golf teams who  supported the cause.
“We have sponsors that have sponsored each year for the past 12 years,” Vickery said. “They feel this cause is important enough and we just appreciate folks supporting the cause every year.”
