Virginia Vaughn
Virginia Vaughn, 91, of Guin, Ala., passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Mississippi Health Services-South Marion in Winfield. Born Aug. 16, 1934, in Marion County, Ala., she is the daughter of the late Lonzo and Effie Jane Gardner Colburn and the wife of the late Lee Roy Vaughn.
She had lived in Guin most of her life and was a member of the Guin Church Of God. She was a Facebook Queen, loved crochet, an avid Bible reader and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Pearson (Donnie) and Glenda Vaughn; a son, Randall Vaughn (Kim); six grandchildren, Melanie Butler, Tony Butler, Dawn Bentley (Wade), Danielle Shed, (Adam), Darian Pearson (Brandie) and Jeremy Vaughn (Erica); a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Roy Vaughn; a daughter, Gloria Butler; a grandson, Tyler Vaughn; three sisters, Jean Markham, Willie Mae Gann and Annie Vaughn; and three brothers, Rufus Colburn, Luther Colburn and Buddy Colburn.
Funeral services were held on April 14, 2026 at the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Guin, with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Shannon Knight officiated. Pallbearers were, Adam Shed, Blake Phillips, Jake Phillips, Drake Phillips, Jeremy Vaughn, Parker Black, Tony Butler, Collin Bentley and Michael Bentley.
