The Alabama Democratic Party will open the candidate qualifying period for the 2026 election cycle on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at 9 a.m. and will close on Jan. 23, 2026, at 5 p.m. Those who wish to qualify as a Democrat candidate can now complete the process online at aldemocrats.org. Instructions for how to complete the process will be published on the Alabama Democratic Party website. If you want to qualify as a non-Federal candidate, you must qualify with the Marion County Democratic Party by contacting Chairlady Lynda Kirkpatrick at lyndamcdp@gmail.com or 205-634-6216, no later than Jan. 23, 2026.
