Bobby Hollis

Bobby Joe Hollis, 81, of Guin, passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Born March 12, 1944, in Fayette County, Ala., he is the son of the late Arvil "Buck" and Mary Evelyn Woods Hollis and the husband of the late Louise Threadgill Hollis. He had lived in Guin all of his life and was a Mason and a member of the Guin First Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Jeff Hollis; a daughter, Sonja Burleson (Greg), all of Guin; a daughter-in-law, Pam Hollis of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Blake Burleson, Jessica Tilley, Courtney Wallace, Kenya Rockhard, Ben Hightower and Sarah Davis; 11 great-grandchildren, JimmahKate, Coastal and Jaylah Tilley, Waylon Wallace, Emerlynn and Brooke Hollis, Brandon Rockhard, Moddie, and Caleb Richardson and Noah and Lexi Hightower; a great-great-grandchild, Aurora Richardson; a sister, Irene Whitehead; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Threadgill Hollis; a son, Wade Hollis; parents, Arvil "Buck" and Evelyn Hollis; three brothers, Bill, Mack and Ricky Hollis; a sister, Virginia Hollis Jones; a grandson, Kyle Hollis; and a daughter-in-law, Janet Hollis.
Funeral services were held May 7, 2025, at the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel of Guin with burial in the Love Joy Cemetery.  Bro. Zane Miles and Bro. Shannon Knight officiated. Pallbearers were Rodney Hollis, Lucas Seaborn, Blake Burleson, Ryan Tilley, Ben Hightower and Austin Wallace. Honorary pallbearers were Coastal Tilley and Waylon Wallace.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Amedysis Hospice Care for the exceptional care and love given during their time of need.
