Jimmie Ray Casey

Jimmie Ray Casey, 77, of Guin passed away peacefully at his residence on July 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmie was born on November 28, 1946, in Russellville.  He was the son of the late Williard Ray and Agnes Palmer Casey and the husband of Margaret Markham Casey.
He lived in Marion County most of his life after graduating from Auburn University in 1970. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a chemical management engineer in the automotive industry.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Guin. He enjoyed gardening, cattle farming and especially working with horses.  He loved spending time with friends and  family, especially his grandchildren, and he enjoyed his yearly travels both inside the U.S. and to foreign countries.  Jimmie’s constant companion in his later years was his faithful Border Collie, “Bubba.” Jimmie will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who knew him. It has been said of Jimmie that “he never had to say a word and everyone knew he was the smoothest person in the room at any gathering; he was kind to all, he always had a good story to share and never said anything negative about anyone.”
Jimmie Ray Casey is survived by his wife, Margaret Markham Casey of Guin; his son, Bryan R. Casey (Tiffany) of Hamilton; his daughters, Tami (Lane) Blackwell of Colorado Springs, Colo.;  Tracy (Cory) Landers of Longmont, Colo.; his grandchildren, Brooks Casey, Kennedy Casey, Samuel Blackwell, Luke Blackwell, Brayden Landers and Abigail Landers; his sister, Martha Casey McInnish of Huntsville; his brother, Earnest R. (Nancy) Casey of Panama City Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven Ray Casey.
Services were held Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Veal Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, and Bro Zane Miles officiated.  There was not a graveside service; Mr. Casey was buried in the Barnesville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Guin for mission work or to their favorite charity.
