Mrs. Mary E. Vintson, 81, of Winfield passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She was born in Centre, Ala. on December 29, 1942, to Claud Trantham and Verna Louise Owens Carroll. Mary was a member of Guin First Baptist Church. She was employed with Walmart of Winfield as an associate and later as assistant manager until her retirement after 30 years of service. Mary loved God, she dearly loved her husband Jim, and she loved her children and grandchildren. Working was another important love, and she loved her Walmart family who often referred to her as “Momma Mary”.
Mrs. Vintson is survived by her daughter, Vandy Doss (Blane); son, Victor Vintson; grandchildren, Jacob Doss (Callie) and Kara Bullard (Ricky); great-grandchildren, Cade, Lanie and Jack Blane Doss, Madison, Marleigh, Mia and KT; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Vintson; sister-in-law, Linda Carroll; special friend, Kim Prescott; her sitters, Cecilia Randolph and Tiny Farrell; her Walmart family; her church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vintson was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Vintson; stepfather, William Carroll; infant grandson, Joseph Lance Doss; grandson, Blake Vintson; and brothers, Ronzie, Bo and Robert Carroll.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vintson were held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
