Northwest Alabamian

LYNN — The Lynn Bears had a fabulous homecoming despite it being Friday the thirteenth, routing Brilliant 63-6 to remain perfect in their region.
It only took Lynn 21 seconds to get on the board, thanks to a 23-yard pass from quarterback Cale Tittle to Jakob Shotts, who took it another 35 yards to the house. Tittle’s PAT was spot on, and the Bears were up 7-0. After a three-and-out from Brilliant, Tittle found Braylen Roberts open for a short pass, and Roberts did the rest, running 55 yards for the touchdown. Tittle’s PAT was good, and the Bears were up 14-0 with just over 9 minutes left in the first. Tittle called his own number on the next possession, running 36 yards for the touchdown. After the successful PAT by Shotts, the score was 21-0. Tittle scored once more before the end of the first quarter on a 17-yard run.  Shotts’ PAT was good, and the score was 28-0 to end the first.
The Bears scored twice in the second quarter, with Jackson Clark getting the first score of the quarter. Shotts’ PAT was good, and the Bears were cruising 35-0 with 7:25 left in the half. Tittle found Roberts open for another touchdown before the end of the first half, with the teams heading to the locker rooms with Lynn up 42-0.
The Bears began the third quarter where they left off in the first half, with Tittle running 57 yards for a touchdown. Logan Madison’s PAT was good, and the score was 49-0.
Brilliant finally got on the board, with Brooks McLemore doing the honors. The Tigers went for 2, but failed, and the score was 49-6.
With Dylan Dunagan in as quarterback, Lynn added two more scores to finish the game. Dunagan handed off to Jackson Clark for a 17-yard gain for the first score and hit Shotts for the second touchdown. Tittle got one of the PATs and Ryan Talley got the other to make the final 63-6.
