Why aren’t toys made in the U.S. of A.?

 My wife and I enjoy a Happy Meal together occasionally after shopping. We usually eat in our car and get caught up on daily things. I like my French fries hot; they would be cold if we went home.
While enjoying our cheeseburger and fries last week, I opened the Happy Meal toy that we usually give to the grandkids. I looked on the plastic bag and read that the toy was made in China. Strange, I thought. The air included inside the plastic bagged toy most likely came from China! A scary thought, right? No sense in explaining what I mean after the last three years. Why can’t Happy Meal toys be made in the U.S. of A. since our air is much cleaner? Right! The cost to produce a toy for Happy Meals in China is cheaper. But is that air safe for us to release in my car?
To me it seems whenever I see the words “Made in China,” I think some politician has something to do with the trade deals. Why is that? I know many people who are skeptical of some of our elected officials who have had business with China. Maybe it is time to check out the reasons we can’t do things here in the U.S. of A.?
