Colorado woman arrested on drug charges

WINFIELD — A Colorado woman was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Shell gas station located on Highway 129 near exit 30 on I-22.
Police chief Brett Burleson said that the police department received a call about a shoplifter causing a disturbance. When police arrived, Burleson said officers believed she was intoxicated but didn’t know what substance was in her system.
An ambulance arrived to check on the woman since she appeared to be intoxicated, which also allowed the police to search her vehicle for drugs.
Winfield Police K-9 Officer Kilo and handler officer Justin Cottingham searched the vehicle. Kilo discovered Marijuana, pipes, and other drug-related materials in her car.
