Cunningham wins bronze medal in 60m hurdles

TORUN, POLAND — Winfield native Trey Cunningham won the bronze medal in the men’s 60-meter hurdles at the 2026 Indoor Track and Field World Championships on Saturday, March 21.
Cunningham earned his spot on the podium with a third-place finish in 7.43 seconds, behind silver medalist Enrique Llopis of Spain with a time of 7.42 seconds, and gold medalist Jakub Szymanski of Poland in 7.40 seconds.
Cunningham set the fifth fastest time ever recorded in the men’s 60m hurdle event in an earlier heat that day at 7.35 seconds.
Cunningham said he had his sights set high going into the championship, but faced a setback between the semi-finals and the finals.
