Ray Franks, 90, of Guin, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at his residence.
Born May 25, 1935, in Marion County, Ala, he is the son of the late Elmon and Lillie Allen Franks. He had lived in Guin most of his life and had retired from the 3M Company in Guin. He was a Mason and a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. Ray deeply loved his family and worked tirelessly throughout his life. He was devoted to helping others and loved the Lord.
He is survived by his significant other, Lavonne Vaughn; children, Michael Franks (Lorrie), Sharon Burnett (Bruce), Alfred Franks (Kay), Tracie Smith (Andy) and Stefanie Weeks (Carl); nine grandchildren, Keith Burnett (Crystal), Jennifer Meador (Matt), Jeremy Franks (Lindsey), Valerie Cole (Josh), Allyson Fuller (Zac), Nathan Brown, Carley Cleary (Aidan), Alec Weeks (Carolyn) and Ty Weeks;  nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Goodwin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leamon Franks; and a sister, Ruth Trimm.
Private family services were held with burial in the Guin City Cemetery.
