HAMILTON — The Hamilton Fire Department responded to a house fire on Friday afternoon, Oct. 20.
Thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky from the north end of town as firefighters responded to the blaze, which had engulfed a fortunately unoccupied house, located at 359 Academy Drive.
According to Hamilton Fire Department Captain Eric Lynch, four engines responded to the fully-involved structure fire and got to work bringing the fire under control with water hoses.
Lynch said it took firefighters around two-and-a-half to three hours and around 7,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
