She lived in Guin most of her life. She was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church and a faithful servant of God.

She was born on June 19, 1962, to Paul and Ann Hamner. She was a member of East Brookwood Missionary Baptist Church and Sylvan United Methodist Church. She was a 1980 graduate of West End Christian School and was employed with Tuscaloosa Chevrolet for 16 years.

William L. Eye, Jr., Winfield, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, with family by his side.

He was born on April 9, 1933, in Potosi, Mo. He was the son of William Lawrence Eye and Altheda Pettigrew Eye.
He was an Air Force veteran and worked as a lineman for Ark-Mo Electric Company in Missouri before an accident required that he take on a new vocation. Subsequently, he graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla as an electrical engineer. He worked for Fluor Corporation for several decades before his retirement.
A world traveler, Mr. Eye also lived in Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the Netherlands and twice in South Africa, overseeing the construction of industrial complexes. He was a low-handicap amateur golfer who always had people queuing up to play with him as he was such a wonderful golf partner. He also enjoyed video games and every new electronic gadget that came onto the market. He was a devoted and loving husband and a caring, generous, loving and fair father.
Mr. Eye is survived by his wife of 50 years - Elaine Roberts Eye, Winfield; daughter - Diana (Chuck) Logan, Big Bear Lake, Calif.; stepsons - Russell Tumlin, Hodges, and Steven Tumlin, Genoa, Nev.; grandchildren - Shaen Allen, Zachary (April) Eye, Jasmine (Joe Pilos) Pilos-Eye, Sierra (Brandon) Dillard and Robert (Micha) Tumlin; great-grandchildren - BreAnn Eye, Emily Merx, Alissa Eye, Zedekiah Eye, Ryan Norrel, Daryl Pilos-Eye, Hunter Pilos-Eye and Selah Pilos-Eye; and great-great-grandchildren - Gage Willhite, Logan Willhite and Parker Dennis.

Elmer Loyd Finch was born on Dec. 18, 1942, to George & Lillian Finch. He passed away on Sept. 3, 2021.

He grew up and graduated from Bragg City, Mo., in 1961 with a class of 15 students with whom he formed lifelong bonds and never missed a class reunion. He then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he joined and proudly served in the US Army from 1964 to 1970 doing three tours in Vietnam.
He was injured on his third tour earning a Purple Heart. After the Army, he began a career as a truck driver and after several years moved into sales for various trucking companies.
He was a Boy Scout Assistant Leader for many years, guiding troops from Cubs to Eagle Scouts. He coached Little League Baseball and enjoyed dressing up as a Pirate mascot for the Little League Football team. Over the years he loved spending time outdoors with family and friends; boating on the lake, snow skiing and camping trips with the Boy Scouts.
In 2011, He joined the Oklahoma Patriot Guard Riders and it quickly became one of his most enjoyable and meaningful endeavors. He was always proud and grateful for anyone who served in our military.
He is survived by his children - Marc Peters, Sheri (Greg) Swift, Michael (Twilia) Finch, Regina Hamilton, Sha Wolford and Brannan "Bear" Wolford; grandchildren - Jonathan and Matthew Finch, Rodney and Bryan Swift, Shelby, Samantha and Reese Peters and Cadence Hamilton; great-grandson - Dean Swift; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces-and-nephews and many friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his mother - Lillian; father - George; and brothers - Arthur and Joe Finch.

Bruce Brian Holmes, 59, Hackleburg, was born on Aug. 22, 1962, to his parents Bruce Holmes and Marie (Sullins) Holmes. He went to meet his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021.

He was a member of Fair View Congregational Church in Hackleburg. He loved his church and church family. His duties were teaching Sunday School, song leader, in charge of church sign, fixing problems on the church itself and varied announcements, such as church lunches.
He worked in construction for over 40 years. He was known as a Master Craftsman by many throughout the Southeast. His craft and his art will be missed.
His laugh, his lively spirit, his unique sayings, his attitude toward life itself and his ability to make others smile and see things differently will be sorely missed by all his family members and anyone who knew him. He never met a stranger.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of ten years - Lamanda (Isom) Holmes; two sons and their families - Seth and Laura (Nix), and Zachary and Whitney (Stidham); grandsons - Lawson and Coy; a new granddaughter due in Oct.; a new grandson due in Jan.; stepsons - Kyler and Eyan Cantrell; siblings - Allen, Stewart Holmes, Amanda Stancil, Patrick Holmes and David Holmes; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Barbara Rhudy Lacy, 75, went to heaven on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at 1:55 in the morning.
She was born on May 22, 1946, to the late Opal Whitehead Rhudy and Tom Rhudy. She raised six kids by herself with the help of too many tree limbs to count for those switchin’s. She worked numerous jobs from Detroit Garment to selling Avon to provide for her kids.

Most know that her favorite pastime was Bingo, and if she didn’t answer her phone when you called that’s most likely where she was. She also loved auctions and antiques, especially old glassware.
Mrs. Lucy was a member at Cooper Baptist Church, but more importantly, she was saved. Are you? Jesus loves you.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1937, in Bexar. She is the daughter of the late Sanders B. and Velma Shotts Williams and the wife of Bill Weaver.

She had lived in Hamilton most of her life and was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church. She retired after 37 years of service from the Northwest Alabama Gas District.

An example of the brief, one-time notice of death is as follows:
John Doe, 53, Anywhere, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 8, 2019.
