Charity nearly halfway to its goal of $40,000

HAMILTON - For the two-week-period ending Thursday, Dec. 5, $6,305 MORE has been donated toward this year’s Christmas for Kids campaign.
This brings the total 2019 campaign to $18,985.
Sandy Sandlin, coordinator of the campaign, says this year’s goal is $40,000 to help purchase holiday gifts for more than 400 children.
All of the money will go toward buying clothing and shoes for children.
Among those who have made the most recent donations are:
• $200 - U Need Us (Hamilton United Methodist Church Sunday School class);
• $100 - Laura Gene Fikes;
• $50 - in honor of Haig Wilson by the Young at Heart Sunday School class at Hamilton First Baptist Church;
• $100 - Coffee Buzz;
• $400 - Valley Title Company;
• $600 - anonymous;
• $1,000 - Steve Logan;
• $100 - Wilford and Mae Ruth Shotts;
• $35 - Joanne Cox;
• $270 - Belva and Denis Wiginton;
• $550 - Julie Palmer;
• $100 - Helen Palmer;
• $100 - Bill Tyra;
• $400 - Al Tidwell;
• $50 - in memory of Katherine Duke Truss, Hamilton High School Class of 1961;
• $150 - Real Part Ministry; and
• $2,500 - CIS Financial Services.
All donations to Christmas for Kids are tax-deductible using the Hamilton Kiwanis Club’s tax identification number.
