Junkin drives in four for victory over Pickens County

Brooks Junkin was an RBI machine on Friday, April 1, driving in four on one hits to lead the Marion County Red Raiders past Pickens County 19-5. Junkin drove in runs on a double in the third and a groundout in the third.
Marion County Red Raiders grabbed an early lead and scored on a home run by Brodie Silas, a walk by Caleb Knight and a walk by Preston Coniff in the first inning.
Marion County  tallied 11 runs in the third inning. Red Raiders batters contributing to the big inning included Knight, Sam Taylor, Cade Adkins, Junkin and Rilley Smith, who all drove in runs.
Ryan Jaggers was the winning pitcher for Marion County Red Raiders Varsity. Jaggers lasted three and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out five and walking one. Junkin threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Demarkis Giles started the game for Pickens County. Giles surrendered eight runs on one hit over two innings, striking out four. Austin Barger and Jackson Shelton entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Zane Burasinski started the game for Marion County. The pitcher lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out one.
Smith, Junkin, Adkins, Knight and Silas each collected one hit to lead. Marion County tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Knight led the way with three.
Zackary Boone led Pickens County with two hits in three at bats.
