He was born on Dec. 8, 1925. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Bostick, on Sept. 8, 1945. During their 69 years of marriage, Mr. Ivie and Dot were rarely apart and served the Lord and their community well. Each day started with breakfast, devotional and prayer and their lives reflected that strong faith.
Mr. Ivie, along with his wife, owned and operated Ivie’s Supermarket in Winfield for many, many years. They were avid Alabama fans and attended every football and basketball game they could.  They loved to travel with their family and friends to games and to various places throughout the United States. He loved to play golf and was one of the initial members of Pikeville Country Club.  When he wasn’t at the grocery store or church, you could find him on the golf course.
On Oct. 4, 2020, he was honored with the title Deacon Emeritus of the Winfield First Baptist Church.  He served 60-plus years as an active member of the Winfield Lions Club and presided in many official capacities during his time.
He is survived by his sons - Elbert (Barbara) Earl Ivie, Jr.  and Michael (Elizabeth) Allen Ivie, both of Winfield; grandchildren - Tabitha (Robert) Lee, Michael Allen Ivie II, and Everett, Benjamin and Andrew Ivie; great-grandchildren - Zachary (Sam) Southern, Brody Southern and Elle Ivie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents - H. E. and Ethel Ivie; siblings - Laura Ann Rhody and Sue Nell Mobley; granddaughter - Jessica Carr Ivie; and his beloved wife of 69 years - Dorothy Bostick Ivie.
Mr. Ivie was laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Winfield City Cemetery.

Many thanks to Country Place Assisted Living, Morning View Estates (formerly Morning Side of Fayette), Kemp Meadows, Kindred Care Hospice and Dr. Ronnie Moss for the care each of you provided during his stay.
