HACKLEBURG — The Town of Hackleburg will hold its 24th Annual Neighbor Day this Saturday, July 5, in downtown Hackleburg to include an “Independence Day Celebration/Fireworks Show.”
Festivities begin at 9 a.m., with live music, a kids’ zone, games, lots of vendors and an antique car show. The festival’s grand finale is its fireworks show, which begins downtown at 9:30 p.m.
"I'd like to welcome everyone out to our annual Neighbor Day festival,” said Hackleburg Mayor Darryl Colburn.
"With everything going on in the world around us these days, it's really nice to give people an opportunity to come out and enjoy themselves in a positive atmosphere.
"These events are a great opportunity to bring the community together, and it’s lots of fun for all ages.
"We'll have merchandise vendors, food vendors and a kids’ zone with bouncy houses, etc.
"The city pool will be open and free to anyone that'd like to cool down before the entertainment and fireworks begin.
"Everyone can expect some great entertainment with local talented artists Handshake Promise, Country singer and songwriter Dan Smalley and former American Idol finalist Casey James.
"As usual, we'll close the night out around 9 p.m. with one of the best firework shows in Northwest Alabama and celebrate another birthday for the greatest country in the world."
Musical lineup
Several local musicians will begin performing at Neighbor Day at 2 p.m., with headliners beginning at 5 p.m., starting with Handshake Promise, then Dan Smalley at 6:30 p.m. and the Casey James Band at 8 p.m.
Car and
motorcycle show
The annual “Hackleburg 4th of July Cars & Bike Show” will be held once again at Bozeman’s Hackleburg Market. All entries of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. The cost is $20 per car, truck or bike. The cost for two entries is $30, or $10 per additional entries.

Special parade
set for 4 p.m.
The American Legion Sonny James Hackleburg Post 165 will host an American Legion Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 5, beginning at 4 p.m., with lineup at 3:15 p.m. on Walker Street next to the Cedar Tree Cemetery.
Floats are welcome. The parade begins at the Hackleburg Methodist Church, goes up State Highway 172, turns right onto North Street, crosses U.S. Highway 43, turns right on Baker Street and will end at the Hackleburg Pharmacy.
