Listerhill to have new location in Winfield

Winfield — Officials and team members from Listerhill Credit Union, the Winfield Chamber of Commerce, the Winfield City Council and other honored guests came together on Thursday, Feb. 27, for a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of Listerhill’s new branch. The new facility is scheduled to open by early 2026.

Hackleburg to hold wet/dry vote

Hackleburg — After receiving a petition from citizens in Hackleburg requesting a wet/dry vote, and after checking to ensure all the names on the petition were registered voters, and after a verification vote by the Hackleburg Town Council on Feb. 17, there will be a special-called election on Tuesday, April 22, to allow a majority of the town’s citizens to determine whether they wish to remain dry or allow local alcohol sales.

Downtown parking limits in Hamilton to be enforced


Parking limits in downtown Hamilton, such as this 30-minute courthouse-related parking area, are now being strictly enforced with fines of $25, $50 and $100, depending on the number of offenses.
HAMILTON — Visitors to downtown Hamilton should be aware that after numerous complaints about downtown parking, the Hamilton Police Department will now be enforcing limits and writing tickets, when necessary, after a resolution was passed regarding the matter on Feb. 3 during a city council meeting.
