Love's Truck stop and Country store

New travel stop opens tomorrow

As one of the most highly-anticipated developments of the last two years, Hamilton’s new Love’s Travel Stop is set to begin operations tomorrow, Feb. 4.

The new location is seated right off of County Road 35 (Fulton Bridge) on River Road Drive, strategically positioned near Interstate 22’s Exit 14.

The $12 million, 20-acre facility has created about 50 local jobs and will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year, accompanied by an Arby’s sandwich restaurant and Speedco truck service center.

Love’s delayed until March 2020

HAMILTON - Construction on a new Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store has postponed, company officials announced on Monday, Nov. 25.
Hamilton Mayor Bob Page told the Journal Record during a phone interview that Love’s real estate project manager, William Gleason, has said construction could be delayed to as late as March 21, depending on weather conditions.
According to Page, Love’s contractors are currently working on projects in the midwest and have run into delays that are resulting in the Hamilton location’s start date being pushed back.

Grant monies mark another step towards Love’s

MONTGOMERY - The City of Hamilton is another step closer to a new Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store.
On Thursday, May 30, Gov. Kay Ivey announced she was awarding Hamilton with a $150,000 Community Block Grant to assist with infrastructure upgrades for the incoming Love’s.
State Rep. Tracy Estes, R-Winfield, announced on Facebook on Friday, May 24, that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is also awarding $150,000 to the city for the project.

Love’s will be granted $2M tax incentive

HAMILTON - An anticipated Love’s Country Store and Truck Stop  will receive a tax incentive worth $2 million.
The Hamilton City Council unanimously passed a development agreement with Love’s during its meeting on Monday, May 20.
Through the agreement, the city commits to rebate Love’s for taxes collected on diesel sales, which is taxed at 2 cents per gallon.
Love’s will be reimbursed on diesel tax for up to $2 million or for no more than 20 years, which ever comes first.
