HAMILTON — The Hamilton Aggies won their double header against the Haleyville Lions on Tuesday, March 31, in Hamilton.
Hamilton played their first of two games at 4:30 p.m. winning 8-1 after a tightly contested first two innings.
Hamilton’s Payton Purser hit a big home run early in the game, and Hamilton didn’t let up after his contribution.
Aggies Joseph Aycock and Tanner Carter both had two hits from four at-bats during the game, while Mason Holloway had one hit from two at bats, scoring two runs.
Hamilton’s left handed pitcher Eli Jackson took the mound during the game and only held the Lions to one run.
Hamilton’s second of their double header saw them win by an even larger margin as they defeated Haleyville 12-4 in another game featuring some big home runs.
Both Jackson and Bryant Loving hit home runs, with Jackson hitting two and Loving hitting one.
Loving had five at-bats in the game, grabbing two hits and scoring two runs.
Jackson was Hamilton’s star player getting two hits and scoring four runs, having just three at-bats in the game.
Jackson, Ben Moore and Purser all had two RBIs to help Hamilton finish off their perfect double header against the Lions.
Loving took to the mound in this game, giving up six hits, but striking out 12 batters in his six innings pitched.
Moore relieved Loving to close out the game, allowing one hit and one run in the final inning.
