The Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) released its All-State teams on Sunday morning, June 13.
The 2021 ASWS All-State softball teams feature the best players in each of eight classes.
The All-State team is compiled through submissions from coaches to sports writers in their area and voted on by the ASWA prep committee. A pitcher, hitter, player and coach of the year is then selected in each class.
Anna Kate Crumpton
Winfield Lady Pirate first-baser Anna Kate Crumpton, a senior, is an honorable mention as an infielder for the Class 3A team.
Krumpton finished the season with a .383 batting average, 10 home runs, 47 runs batted in (RBIs), 52 runs scored and 16 stolen bases.
Erin Culp
Marion County High School Lady Red Raider, a junior, was named to the Class 1A all-star team as an honorable mention as an in-fielder.
Culp averaged .455 at bat, with a .497 on-base percentage (OBP) and .724 slugging percentage (SLG). She recorded 61 hits, four home runs and 46 RBIs.
Lexie Dobbins
Hamilton Lady Aggie Lexie Dobbins, a junior, was named as an honorable mention to the Class 4A all-star team as a designated hitter.
Dobbins had a .430 batting average with a .463 OBP and a .603 SLG. She had 77 hits on the season with 23 doubles, two home runs and 65 RBIs. She only struck out four times.
Kennah Beth Lacy
Winfield Lady Pirate Kennah Beth “KB” Lacy, an eighth-grader, was named to the Class 3A’s second team as a pitcher.
Lacy held a 16-7 record on the mound, holding a 2.87 ERA with 122 strikeouts on the season and a .239 batting-average against.
She maintained a .351 batting average with four home runs and 26 RBIs.
