‘End of Summer’ concert set for Aug. 24

WINFIELD - School is back in session and the lazy days of summer have ended.
The Pastime Theatre in Winfield wants to invite everyone to attend an “End of Summer” concert featuring two area acts.
“If we must say, ‘Goodbye,’ to summer, then let us say, ‘Goodbye,’ with a fantastic concert that is economically-priced, too,” said Pastime Theatre Board Chairwoman Mary Hyche.
The Winfield theater will be presenting the “End of Summer” concert on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.

 

Consumed by Fire to perform at Pastime Theatre

WINFIELD - The contemporary Christian group Consumed by Fire is set to engulf the Pastime Theatre stage on Saturday, June 15, at 7 p.m.
The group, composed of three brothers--Caleb, Josh and Jordan Ward--began in 2010 and hail from Oklahoma.
The group is a musically-inventive Southern pop/rock band that combines their church roots with an eclectic array of influences distilled into a sound that is uniquely their own. 

Pastime’s 2019 concert series announced


Winfield’s Pastime Theatre has announced its 2019 Concert Series, a string of four concerts featuring multiple different genres that will take place beginning in March and ending in June. Tickets are now on sale.

WINFIELD - The Pastime Theatre in Winfield is excited to announce its 2019 concert series.
The 2019 series will open on Saturday, March 9, with Jason Petty’s “Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes.” According to  Pastime Theatre Chairman Mary Hyche, “There’s only one Hank William’s and Jason Petty portrays him best.”
Petty starred as Williams in New York City’s hit Off-Broadway musical, “Lost Highway,” as well as at Nashville’s world-famous Ryman Auditorium.

The Miracle Worker production opens tomorrow

WINFIELD - Only two special performances of  “The Miracle Worker,” the story of Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan, will be performed by Self Express Productions at the Pastime Theatre. Viewers can attend the play on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m.
The production, which is co-produced by the Pastime Theatre, is an official Alabama 200th Bicentennial Event, designed to celebrate the 200th birthday of the state, as well as commemorate Alabama native Helen Keller.

Comedic concert scheduled after bicentennial picnic


“Three on a String” will take the stage at the Pastime Theatre in Winfield on Saturday, Aug. 18, for a comedic musical routine.

WINFIELD - The Winfield Main Street Program and the Pastime Theatre partnered together to bring “Three on a String,” a traveling, four-member group of musicians and entertainers, to perform at the Pastime Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 18.
The concert will take place at 2 p.m., after the Marion County Bicentennial Picnic, which will be hosted at the Winfield City Hall from 11 - 1 p.m.
