Brilliant Tigers quench Flame 56-6 Friday

FLORENCE — The Brilliant Tigers traveled to Florence on Friday, Aug. 30, and defeated the Shoals Christian Flame 56-6 in a strong start to their 2024 season.
Several players on the Tigers’ offense and defense had an excellent game while bringing in those points.
Quarterback Brooks McLemore was 6 / 12 in receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
Brooks Armstrong had 60 receiving yards and one touchdown. Kason Pool had 20 reception yards and one touchdown, followed by Jaeden Lipsey with 22 receiving yards.
The Tigers rushed for a total of 390 yards and six touchdowns.
McLemore ran for 115 yards and one touchdown. Jerry Lothrop ran for 149 yards and one touchdown.
Taylen Odom rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown.
Armstrong rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown. Cayden Yielding ran for nine yards and one touchdown.
Wes Woodard rushed three yards, and Zion Riecke picked up two rushing yards.
On special teams, Lipsey returned two punts for 43 yards. Odom made a 25-yard kickoff return, and Armstrong returned one kickoff 20 yards.
A good portion of the Tigers also made at least one tackle on defense.
Odom made two tackles, McLemore made one, Armstrong made two and Jack Bell made two.
Yielding made four tackles and two assists. Woodard made a tackle, Hagen Dickinson made one, Riecke made four, Pool made four (along with one assist, one fumble recovery and one sack), and Brycen Yielding made four tackles and a fumble recovery.
Lothrop made four tackles, Braden Canterberry made three tackles, Levi Norris made one tackle and Chris Rabbelero made an assist.
Jerimyah Brown made two tackles, Jake Lesner made two and two assists, and finally Blake Jenkins and Damian Hobbs made one each.
Brilliant will host Lynn this Friday.
