Sarah Cooper

Sarah Cooper, 89, of Hamilton, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at Marion Regional Nursing Home of Hamilton.
She was born in Guin on Jan. 31, 1933, where she raised and went to school.
She was a member of Hamilton First Baptist Church. She and her husband, Lee, owned and operated various restaurants in Hamilton for many years. She was well known by the countless customers at Cooper's Cafeteria and other establishments.
She is survived by her step-daughter - Brenda Cooper (Bravell) Jackson of Hamilton; granddaughters - Benja Jackson and Brooke Jackson (Rusty) Banister; great-grandsons - Jackson and Braden Banister; her brother - Donald Arthur (Gwyneth) Jones of Guin; sisters-in-law - Doris Clark Jones and Virginia Hollis Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband - Lee Cooper; son - Michael Cooper; step-son - Ronnie Cooper; her parents - John Henry and Gertie Belle Benton Jones; two sisters - Mary Faye Jones Motes and Margie Rae Jones Palmateer; and two brothers - John Edward Jones and George Henry Jones.
A graveside service for Mrs. Cooper was held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at the Barnesville Cemetery in Hamilton.
