Ann Bostick Couch Garrett

Ann Bostick Couch Garrett, 68, beloved daughter and sister, passed away unexpectedly at her Atlanta home on Friday, Sept. 26, 2022.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1953, in Winfield to the late Eloise Gaba Couch and Dr. Edwin Wheeler Couch. She was blessed with a loving step-mother Eileen Crawford Couch. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1972 having attended there from K-12.  She attended the University of Alabama and earned a B.S. in Nursing from Samford University. It was in nursing where she fulfilled her calling, caring for her patients with competence and love. She continued her education at Newport University earning a degree in Human Behavior with emphasis on counseling.
She worked in orthopedic nursing before moving to Atlanta in 1984. In Atlanta, she specialized in psychiatric nursing which emphasized her counseling and nursing skills. A special circle of friends and relatives will miss Mrs. Garrett being part of their lives. A phone call, and a listening ear. She was an encourager and had an incredible generous spirit. She had a special gift of looking at others with soft eyed acceptance and loved a good laugh. She could often be found watching a classic movie or cheering enthusiastically for Alabama football. A fun night out for Mrs. Garrett was Cajun and Contra dancing with friends.
She is survived by her loving sister - Nancy Couch Moss of Montgomery; two nephews - Walter Ernest (Emily) Moss, Jr. of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Edwin Wheeler (Blair) Moss of Birmingham; and great-nephews-and- nieces - Wheeler, Charlie, Mary Charlotte and Isla.
A graveside service for Mrs. Garrett was held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, from the Winfield City Cemetery.
