James Norris Frederick, 77, of Fayetteville, N.C., formerly of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1944, in Smithville, Miss. He is the son of the late S. R. and Lily Foster Frederick and the husband of the late Iris Geraldine Weeks Frederick. He lived in Winfield most of his life, was a member of the South Hamilton Free Will Baptist Church and had served in the Alabama National Guard.
He is survived by three daughters - Anita Kay (Donnie) Burkett of Atmore, Deborah Faye (Ronnie) Goodwin of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Ashley Nichole Woodruff of Winfield; a son - James Daniel Frederick Fayetteville, N.C.; four grandchildren - Tyler Russo, Megan Russo, Hannah Vickery and Ian Barton; a sister - Irene (Richard ) Wood of Amory, Miss.; two brothers - Clarence (Barb) Frederick of South Carolina and Robert (Sue) Frederick of Smithville, Miss.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Iris Geraldine Weeks Frederick; a sister - Geneva Sanders; and two brothers - Sam and Hoyle Frederick.
The funeral service for Mr. Frederick was held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, from the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Guin City Cemetery.
Bro. Jerry Norris was the officiating minister.
