WINFIELD — According to Northwest Regional Health CEO Michael Windham, the hospital in Winfield saw a significant uptick in positive cases that was over the state average during the month of January.
“The positivity rate for the state of Alabama is 45.3 percent,” Windham said on Friday, Jan. 21. “In the last week here in Winfield, our lab tested 202 people with 107 positives, so we have a higher positivity rate at 53 percent of our tests. We are anticipating a drop this week in numbers, and that we’ve already peaked and will be going down.”
Windham said despite the surge, numbers started to decline.
