Pirates pound Wildcats for region win

OAKMAN  -  The Winfield offense was clicking on all cylinders as the Pirates tallied up 54 points and over 400 total yards to pound the Oakman Wildcats 54-14 in a Class 3A, Region 6 game on Friday, Sep. 10, in Oakman.
Pirates’ quarterback Aidan Quinn passed for a career-high 290 yards, and four touchdowns to help Winfield improve to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Class 3A, Region 6.
After starting off slow the Pirates offense found its footing as the first quarter was coming to a close and reeled off consecutive scoring drives to race out to a 21-0 lead.
Winfield head coach David McKinney was happy with the win and still looks to improve his team as the season progresses.
