Mr. Mark Alan Barnes, 61, Tuscaloosa, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1959, to James and Lillie Barnes in Selma.

He was a 1977 graduate of Marion County High School and a United States Army veteran. He was employed with Universal Cryo Gas / UCG in Tuscaloosa. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends watching Alabama football, NASCAR racing and grilling.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his children - Amanda (Kodey Hawkins) Barnes, Tuscaloosa, Kaitlyn (Danny) Parish, Hamilton, Derrick Barnes, N.C., Joseph Barnes, Winfield, and Katy Cole, Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren - Kaiven Hawkins, Kannon Hawkins, Danny Oliver and Kayleona Hawkins; brothers - Craig Barnes, Jeff (Mary Ann) Barnes and Kent (Jackie) Barnes; his ex-wife - Mary Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.  
He was preceded in death by his parents - James Paul Barnes and Millie Gray Brown Barnes; grandson - Willum Parrish; and a sister-in-law - Vickie Barnes.
The funeral service for Mr. Barnes was held on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Sizemore Cemetery near Beaverton.  
Pallbearers were Danny Parish, Derek Barnes, Joey Hicks, Joseph Barnes, Kodey Hawkins and Stacey Stewart.
Honorary pallbearer was Benny Hubbert.

Ricky Lee Caudle, 66, Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Caudle grew up in the Town of Brilliant. As a child, he enjoyed being outdoors. He began working, push mowing yards, at a young age. This work ethic would continue to be the standard for him throughout his life as a coal miner and heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his daughters - Jennifer Caudle (Buddy) Hendrix, Nauvoo, and Kila Caudle (Chad) Corkren, Winfield; son - Payton (Brandi) Caudle, Winfield; seven grandchildren - Mallory Corkren, Conner Corkren, Brooks Hendrix, Karsyn Caudle, Emma Marcum, Addisyn Caudle and Remington Caudle; sister - Trib Henderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Caudle was preceded in death by his mother - Florene Hornsby Caudle; father - Hoyt Caudle; and brother - Jerry Caudle.
Mr. Caudle will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. We feel comfort knowing that he has received his ultimate healing and is rejoicing as he is reunited with those that have gone before him.
A private memorial service will be held for Mr. Caudle at a later date.

Mrs. Cox was born on June 25, 1932, in Forrest City, Ark., to Andrew and Nellie Hastings.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her children - Patricia (Rodney) Akers, Taylor, Mich., James Cox, Detroit, Mich., and Patsy (Tim) Barnett, Winfield; grandchildren - Tammy (Rob) Farr, Carol (Jerry) Carroll, Geraldine (Danny) Hulsey, Timothy Barnett, Billie Barnett, Misty (Rob) Hosburgh, Crystal Barnett, Luke (Destiny) Cox, Cassie (Perry) Dudonis, Ellie Blaylock, Amy Adams, David Cox and Jamie Cox; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister - Jean Witt, La.; brother - George (Ruth) Hastings, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents - Andrew and Nellie Williams Hastings; her husband - Dewey Cox, Jr.; a son - Bobby Cox; great-grandson - Timothy Jacob Barnett; brothers - Roy and Bud Hastings; and sisters - Wilma Riggs and Mildred Aunspaugh.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Estes, 71, Winfield, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021.  
Mrs. Estes was born in Winfield on April 9, 1950, to Clayton and Pauline Elliot.
Mrs. Estes was a 1968 graduate of Winfield High City School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in business and commerce administration.
She worked with the Internal Revenue Service of Alabama for over 36 years and retired in 2016.

Mr. Hilburn was born on Aug. 27, 1932, to Victor Glenn and Sadie Chambers Hilburn in Gordo as the youngest of their six sons.
 He graduated from Carrollton High School in Pickens County in 1950. On July 4, 1953, at the age of 20, he married Barbara Joann Snipes in Tuscaloosa. After serving in the United States Air Force, including periods where he was stationed in Florida and Athens, Greece, he was employed with

his father-in-law at Snipes Business Machines in Tuscaloosa from 1956-1966.
Mr. Hilburn was passionate about education. In 1965, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in commerce and business administration with a major in accounting. He went on to earn a master of arts in business administration from the University of North Alabama in 1979. He then earned a second master of arts with a major in trade and industrial education in 1983 from the University of Alabama. Mr. Hilburn became a respected instructor and taught at Bevill State Community College in Hamilton from 1966 until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Hilburn was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After living in Hamilton for most of his life, he had recently made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Linda Hilburn, in Calera, where he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by three children - Beth (Gary) Armstrong, Bruce (Linda) Hilburn and Bonnie (Richard) Zarzaur; grandchildren - Ashley Armstrong, John (Anna) Armstrong, Allison (Ryan) Rehnborg, Bradford Hilburn, Erin (Jacob Hargrave) Hilburn, Cortney (Wade) Hyde and Sandra Hilburn; great-grandchildren - Anna Bella Alberts, Emerson Wade Hyde, Haven Wilder Hilbrave, Dorothy Jane Armstrong and Naomi Joy Rehnborg; sister-in-law - Carolyn Snipes Geist; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; an infant sister; five brothers - Robert Chambers (Carmen) Hilburn, Fla., Edward Victor (Claudia) Hilburn, Tuscaloosa, Howard Lewis (Ruth) Hilburn, Knoxville, Tenn., Charles Russell Hilburn, Carrollton and Hamilton, and Bryant Leslie (Odell) Hilburn, Tuscaloosa; his son - John Marshall (Sheila) Hilburn; and one grandson - Christopher Bruce Hilburn.
A graveside service was held on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo.

Elouise Sullins Humber, 84, passed away on Aug. 20, 2021, of heart failure at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
She was born on April 5, 1937, in Hamilton, to James Delmar Sullins and Jeanie Davis Sullins.

She was a 1956 graduate of Hackleburg High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Hamilton. She completed a cosmetology course in Jasper and was owner/operator of Elouise’s Beauty Shop for 40 years.
Ms. Humber is survived by one sister - Catherine Sullins Goodwin, Mount Olive; niece - Tracy Goodwin (Geoffrey) Keenum, Mount Olive; and two great-nephews that she adored - Dr. Zachary Goodwin Keenum, M.D. (Dr. Rebecca Duron Keenum, M.D.), Dallas, Texas., and Mace Abram Keenum, Nashville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents - James Delmar Sullins and Jeanie Davis Sullins.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sunset Manor for their kindness and superb care of Ms. Humber.

Jerri Consuelo Lucas, 49, Winfield, passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021.  
She was born on Feb. 10, 1972, three weeks after the passing of her father. She was the daughter of Jerry MacArthur Lucas and Gladys Dillard Lucas.

She was a 1992 graduate of Hamilton High School and lived in Marion County her entire life. She was employed with Sitel as a call center representative. She loved her work and flourished at it, she loved talking to people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend and her family. She loved cooking, taking care of her kitty, being on the water and music.
She is survived by the man she loved - Jeff Hughes; children - David, Jay and Annagrace Spiller; her mother and step-father - Gladys and Wayne Irvin; sisters - Phyllis (Scott) Frye, Debra (Barry) Perry  and Tracy (Gama) Cordova; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.  
Ms. Lucas was preceded in death by her father - Jerry Lucas; a step-father - Lee Wilson; step-brother - Rodney Crowe; and grandparents - Arthur Lee and Shalar Lucas and Clyde and Willie Dillard.

Mr. Jimmie Harrison Smith, 67, Guin, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021.
Mr. Smith was born in Winfield on Jan. 13, 1954, to Elwood and Kate Smith. He was a 1972 graduate of Winfield City High School and a United States Army veteran. He was the owner/operator of Smith & Son Small Engine Repair in Gu-Win and Smith Cattle Farm for many years. Mr. Smith was employed with Spann’s Hardware in Winfield as a small engine mechanic for over 30 years. He retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service to his country.
