Escapee from federal facility arrested

BEAR CREEK   -  What began as suspicious people at Twin Forks Campground in Bear Creek turned into two-vehicle crashes, a convicted sex offender taken into custody, his brother still at large and a three-state theft ring broken.
Charges in the ongoing investigation have been filed against  Joshua Wayne Burnett, 44, who had escaped from a federal transition house in Lee County, Mississippi.  Burnett is a sex offender, who was convicted on Nov. 28, 2000, in Lonoke, Ark., on rape charges, according to authorities and criminal records.
Burnett now faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of an accident, two counts of receiving stolen property, attempting to elude, reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespassing third degree, and four counts of bringing stolen property into the state, according to Bear Creek Police Chief Kenny Hallmark.
